Skinny models are setting a bad example for teenagers

Americas Next Top Model is a show many young girls follow to see who will get voted off next. The television show displays a distorted body type. As the media grows so does the influence it has on children. When young girls are watching shows like these it makes them step back and look at them self, its only natural for teen girls to pick apart every aspect of their physical body. The littlest things become the biggest deal. Girls look at the bodies of models and celebrities as a realistic goal for them self and don't consider the other factors such as a physical trainer or a nutritionist watching their every move. Some girls think that the only way they can get the "perfect" body is to do things that seriously harm their body. It takes a very smart person to know that the models body is not possible for the every day person, and teen girls looking at these shows or in these magazines don't think beyond the outside and think they will be liked more if they  become like this model. It also gives teens a disturbed vision of what skinny is. I think if more models were a healthier weight slowly society would see that that is pretty and skinny isn't necessarily the best look.
